Alfred Fressola Obituary

Alfred A. Fressola
Alfred Fressola, age 76, passed away on April 29, 2023 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a 26 month battle against pancreatic cancer. Alfred confronted his illness with incredible bravery and fortitude.
Born on November 22, 1946 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Al was the youngest of three children to the late Michael and Anna Fressola. Al graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1973 receiving his JD. He was a lifelong UCONN sports fan right up until his passing. He was a family man to his core, committed to his wife and son throughout his life. He was a hard working patent attorney and managing partner of Ware, Fressola, Maguire and Barber. He was also an astronomy, tennis, and sports car aficionado; all of which highlighted his great love of life.
In addition to his loving wife Cecilia, Alfred is survived by his son, Brendan and his husband Axel; his sisters, Michele Ambrose and her husband Joseph of Easton, and Irene Cox of Bedford, NH; his cousins, Bob and Art Fressola, and Dr. Bill Gasco, who were all like brothers to him; as well several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Al's oncologist Dr. Jill Lacy as well as the compassionate staff at the Yale New Haven Medical ICU.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 10:30am to 12pm at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A prayer service will begin at the funeral home promptly at 12pm. Burial will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Al's memory to the Aspetuck Land Trust, The Thomas Merton Center, or to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission. Very sorry for your loss.

I worked with Al at the firm and worked on Easton conservation issues with him.

He was truly a genius and truly a good person.

So sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of Al and the family back in the old neighborhood in Trumbull. Picnics and gatherings at the holidays. Fun times. I pray for strength and comfort to the family during this time of grief.
