Ana Barros Dos Santos, age 87, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Luis Dos Santos, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at St. Vincent's Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Redial, Chaves, Portugal on October 17, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Carolino Manuel De Barros and Rosa (Teresa) Alves. Along with her family, Ana immigrated to the United States in 1978 and was a longtime Bridgeport resident before recently moving to Shelton. A seamstress by trade, she was a retired employee of Dooney & Bourke with over 20 years of dedicated service. Ana loved to knit and crochet and shared many of her items with family and friends. In her quiet time, she loved to read and tend to her plants. She especially enjoyed cooking for her family on holidays. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who always put the needs of her family before her own. The unconditional love she gave and the values and traditions she taught will always live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed. Survivors include her two loving daughters, Ondina Ferreira and her husband Jose of Hudson, Mass., and Albertina Madeira and her husband Rui of Shelton; son-in-law, Carlos Alves; three cherished grandchildren, Charles Alves and his fiancé Carina, Jennifer Ferreira, and Melinda Madeira; an adored great-granddaughter, Catalina Iria; sister-in-law, Zulmira Dos Santos; niece, Susana; great-nephew, David; a Goddaughter, Delmina (Mina) Goncalves; as well as family in Portugal and Brazil. She was predeceased by two daughters, Luisa Dos Santos and Iria Alves; a sister, Arminda De Barros; and a brother, Antonio De Barros. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
