Andrew Cappella Obituary

CAPPELLA Andrew B. Cappella, age 81 of West Haven, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2008 at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. He was born August 22, 1927 in New Haven to the late Ralph and Anna Rusate Cappella. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Before retiring, he was an electrical engineer for Norden Systems of United Technologies Corp. Mr. Cappella is survived by his loving wife, Joan Grant Cappella; devoted children, Laurence D. Cappella of Castle Rock, Colo., Ronald M. Cappella of Burlington, Mass., Alan C. Cappella of Chestertown, N.Y., Kenneth P. Cappella of Santa Barbara, Calif., Christopher P. Cappella of Largo, Fla. and Sharon R. Cappella of West Haven; and 11 grandchildren. Andy, husband and father, was the strength, provider (as well as an avid Yankee fan), and backbone of our family for 52 years. His constant presence in our lives will be missed in ways we can't even imagine now. We love you, Dad. Calling hours are Friday, January 2, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford.
