Angela (Honey) Anderson, 90, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024. Born on February 25, 1934, in Rye, New York, she was the 7th child and only girl born to Gerald Groglio and Mary (Grosso) Groglio.
She is survived by her children: daughter, Cher Anderson-Konecny (Jon Konecny) and son, Keith Anderson (April Daly); her grandchildren: Summer Anderson (Ruben Goodwin) and Jonathan Konecny (Ashley Tarantino); her great-grandson: Hudson Berrena-Anderson; her caregiver, Sandy Amaya and countless nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband, Bill Anderson, and her cherished son, Jeff. Honey will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, admired sister and loyal friend.
Honey's career spanned over 50 years. She first worked at Marc's Bootery in Rye, NY, as the Store Manager. When she moved to Fairfield, she began working at Steinbach as a Sales Associate. But her greatest fulfillment came from working as a Front Desk Coordinator at Total Look Salon & Spa for over 35 years. She loved the interaction with the clients and was a caring, maternal figure for all the staff.
Honey loved travelling, especially cruises, playing Bingo and visiting the casinos. She was known for her love of "Scratch-Offs" and lottery games, dining out – especially the "hot" soup! – and her birdwatching. She was an avid Yankees fan and UConn Women's Basketball fan. But her greatest love was spending time with her family. She treasured her involvement with her family, and they brought her the greatest joy of her life.
Honey was known for her quick wit and her incredible memory. You could never put anything over on Honey! Her bright blue eyes and beautiful smile could light up a room. Anyone who was fortunate to be touched by Honey was a better person because of her and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Carolton Chronic and Convalescent Hospital for their care and compassion. Arrangements are being handled by the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 7th, at 11 a.m. at St. Pius Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield, and, immediately following, will continue at Lawncroft Cemetery, 1740 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield.
