Angela Barberio Obituary

Angela Barberio
Angela Barberio, a longtime resident of Monroe, CT, passed away on May 16th, 2025, at the Lutheran Home in Southbury, CT, after a two-month illness.
Angela was born on May 18th, 1935, in Ruoti, Italy, to Joseph and Rachele Errico. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 15, and resided in Bridgeport, CT. For many years, Angela worked as a seamstress, and later dedicated over 20 years of service to Vishay Corporation (Vitramon). She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ralph Barberio, her beautiful daughter, Karen Zalewski, and by her siblings, Frank Errico and Mary Savo.
Angela is survived by her son, Kenneth Barberio, and his wife, Kellyann, of Oxford, CT; her son-in-law, Thomas Zalewski of Naugatuck, CT; her grandchildren: Lauren Zalewski and her partner, Dylan, of Seattle, WA, Lindsay Catanzaro and her husband, Bobby, of Bristol, CT, Dante Barberio and his partner, Katie, of Boston, MA, Danielle Barberio of Oxford, CT; her brother, Anthony Errico and his partner, Lucille, of Stratford, CT; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Angela was known for her warmth and kindness. She was the nicest woman you could ever meet, always greeting friends, family, and even strangers with a smile and a hug. Known for her youthful appearance and attitude, and walking 5 miles a day, she loved cooking for her family and was a talented seamstress well into her 80s. Always willing to help anyone, she was also the best dog sitter for Cotton and will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Lutheran Home for their exceptional care and support during Angela's illness. A Wake will be held on Wednesday, May 21st, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468.
