Angeline "Pinkie" Mendes

MENDES Angeline "Pinkie" Mendes, age 96, of Bridgeport, died on Sunday, July 6, 2003, at Bridgeport Hospital. Mrs. Mendes was born in Stamford, daughter of the late Henry and Emma Davis. She lived in Bridgeport for more than 70 years, and retired from Longfellow School, where she worked for many years. She devoted most of her life caring for her family and friends. She is survived by a brother, Charles Davis of Bridgeport; 13 grandchildren; more than 150 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mendes was predeceased by her two sons, Morris and Charles Mendes; and 14 siblings. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Lester Gee Funeral Home, 1390 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment in Park Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
