It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anna Frances Capasso, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, who left this world on October 30, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on March 6, 1942, in Bridgeport, CT, Anna was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Anthony and Rose Gaetano Capasso who affectionately called her "Cookie". Anna's journey in life was marked by resilience, talent, and profound love. She attended St. Michael's School in Bridgeport, graduated from Bullard-Havens and Butler Business School and went on to earn an associate's degree in marketing from Housatonic Community College. Her professional life was filled with creativity and passion-she worked at the American Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford, the Palace Theatre in Stamford, and Innovative Display and Design in Bridgeport. Anna cherished the friendships she built in the theater community, where her artistic spirit thrived. In her personal life, Anna was a devoted mother to her children, Roxanne (Christopher) Amiot, Tony Montarro, and Bronwyn Brandye Montarro. She was also a proud grandmother to her grandchildren, Luke (Samantha Carroll) Amiot and Bridget Amiot. Anna's warmth and nurturing spirit extended to her sister, Toni (Malcolm) LaPlante, and she was a beloved aunt to several nieces and nephews as well as cousins. She shared her life with her former spouse and father to her children, Anthony Montarro. A long-term survivor of stage 4 breast cancer, Anna's strength and determination were evident in her participation in various online support groups, where she inspired others with her courage and spirit. She was thankful for the exceptional care she received from her doctors, especially Dr. Dhanjal, and the compassionate nurses, Nancy and Barbara. Anna had many hobbies and interests that brought her joy. She was an avid reader and a lifelong learner. She studied Middle Eastern Dance and performed at numerous functions, captivating audiences with her grace and enthusiasm. Her love for the beach and travel took her to beautiful places, including Barbados and Italy, where she created lasting memories. She was also very proud of her Italian heritage. In recent years, Anna began writing a column titled "Ask Anna" for an online publication, sharing her insights and wisdom with a wider audience. This creative outlet exemplified her desire to connect with others and make a meaningful impact in their lives. Anna's funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church, located at 310 Pulaski Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT. The family kindly requests donations to Swim Across the Sound in Anna's memory-a cause close to her heart. As we remember Anna Frances Capasso, we celebrate her legacy of love, creativity, and resilience. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all. May she rest in God's peace.
