I have so many wonderful memories of Anne from my childhood. She was my aunt Mary Lou's best friend and I spent many summer days at the beach in Old Saybrook with them. I loved hearing their stories and watching Anne do the Sunday NY Times crossword in pen!!
When I decided to attend Syracuse University Mary Lou and Anne took me to Syracuse for a school tour. We had such a fun weekend that we missed our flight home because we were chatting away at brunch.
At my wedding, my young niece took one look at Anne and proclaimed that "she was having a really good hair day!" I'll also remember Anne as pictured in this photo, so elegant with not a hair out of place.
My condolences to Anne's family. I'm thinking of you all.

Anne has been a long-time family friend and one of my mother's best friends. Anne and Mary Lou Muldoon were at our home frequently either playing bridge with my parents or helping to celebrate a Baptism, wedding or other family get together. Anne and Mary Lou were at our wedding and at my wife's bridal shower.
Anne is my brother Greg's godmother.
She was always pleasant and friendly and quick with an answer if anyone had a question. I remember before I had a dance in high school, Anne was trying to teach me some steps in our living room so I wouldn't embarrass myself. I guess I learned enough as I don't recall my date complaining.
My wife saw Anne at a Lauralton Hall's Christmas in The Mansion and commented she looked the same as she did years before. The photo posted here is just how I always remembered Anne.
To Anne's family we wish our condolences and pray that her passing is full of some of the very positive memories we have!

Anne was a hoot - constant good humor, a great story teller, and (alas) a dedicated Republican. I remember her and her boon companion Mary Lou Muldoon, jetting off to the Republican national conventions and havingwonderful times. As a telephone employee, when she was active and retire she would whip out her special card that allowed us to call pals around the country for free. This was a incredible luxury, and she was so generous. The always impeccable hairdo, the laugh, the cigarettes and the vodka tonics and gret anecdotes made her an always welcome guest. My late mother, Kay O'Neil Smith, adored her. I know they are all catching up right now.

Anne was my Aunts Sister. She was one of a kind and quite a bold woman for the time she was in.
She had a wicked sense of humor, a sharp wit, and a true sense of her own style.
I loved sitting on the edge of family gatherings sharing a cigarette and laughing about something with a Vodka tonic.
I will truly miss her. Love to Bob and Reagan.
