Anthony Ianniello Obituary

Anthony Ianniello
October 10, 1934 - March 9, 2023
Anthony John Ianniello passed away peacefully on March 9 in Orange, CT after a brief illness. Tony was born in Bridgeport , the son of the late Anthony and Fiilomena (Somma) Ianniello. He was the loving father of Anthony Jr. (Elizabeth) Ianniello and Kathleen (Richard) Breitenbach and cherished grandfather of Anthony III (Christina), Kristen (Ryan) Pierson, Joseph Ianniello, Richard Breitenbach Jr., and Katlyn Breitenbach. He was also the proud great-grandfather "Papa" of Anthony, Benjamin and Nathan. Tony is survived by his sister Nancy Murray and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy (Birch) Ianniello, his brother John Ianniello and sisters Lydia Ciotti and Lucy Burton.
Tony was extremely proud of his service in the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal and enjoyed meeting and swapping stories with other Marines throughout his life.
He was also proud to have been the founder of Tony's Auto Body in 1964, a family business that endures today.
He and Dot raised their family in Milford and Orange before retiring to Florida. Dot and Tony traveled extensively, visiting all corners of the world. Tony was an avid bowler, and continued to bowl with his good friends until his last year of life. He also loved watching the Yankees and the Uconn women's basketball games.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Maplewood at Orange for lovingly caring for Tony's needs in his final months.
All services will be private.

I only knew Tony for a very short time at Maplewood. When I would come in to visit my husband, Tony would frequently be in the lobby. He would greet everyone that came in and ask how we were. I´m going to miss seeing his smiling face. He always made the day better. My deepest sympathy.
