Augusto DaCunha Obituary

Augusto H. DaCunha
Augusto H. DaCunha, 86, of Bridgeport, died on August 24, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Augusto was born on July 31, 1939, in Moimenta da Serra, Portugal, the son of Antonio Marques da Cunha and Vitoria Henriques. He immigrated to the U.S. in the 1960s and met and married Matilde Jardim in 1967. Augusto worked in construction and a number of the Bridgeport factories and finally as groundkeeper at Brooklawn and Redding Country Clubs. Along with his wife, he owned Madeira Floral for over 20 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Bridgeport.
Surviving him is his wife, his daughters, Linda Cunha and Nancy Ereshena, and his grandchildren, Elizabeth and Michael Ereshena as well as many nieces and nephews in the USA and Portugal. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Isaura Henriques da Cunha Figueiredo. We would like to thank Mosaic Hospice Home Care for making his last days comfortable and peaceful.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 28th, 2025, from 4:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. at Parente Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield, CT. Services will continue Friday, August 29th, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Bridgeport. Entombment will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport.
