Avelina Foley Towle, 51, died Monday, May 26, 2014 in Chicago, IL after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer. Evy was the daughter of William & Marjorie Towle of Eau Claire, WI. Evy graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1981 and later went on to receive her certificate in Early Childhood Education from Chippewa Valley Technical College.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William & Marjorie. Evy is survived by her nine brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Towle, Deborah Williams, William (Julie) Towle, Edward (Natalie) Towle, Robert (Lynne) Towle, Margaret (John) Rein, Kevin Towle, John Towle and James (Jenni) Towle as well as sixteen nieces and nephews, seven great-nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Evy worked at Burr Street and Osborn Hill Elementary Schools as a paraprofessional with special needs children in Fairfield, CT where she was deeply loved by the children she worked with as well as the faculty, staff and parents. Evy also worked many years in various grocery stores located in Fairfield and Bridgeport, CT.
Evy will be most remembered for her infectious laugh, her radiant smile, her effervescent attitude and her love for her family, her friends and the children whose lives she touched.
A memorial mass will be jointly held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. for Evy and her mother, Marjorie, who died on May 8, 2014, at the Newman Parish in the Ecumenical Religious Center, 110 Garfield Avenue, Eau Claire, WI with Father David Olson officiating. Friends may call at the church one-hour prior to the service. A luncheon reception at the Holiday Inn Eau Claire South will follow.
Private family burial will be held at a later date.
