Barbara Giblin Obituary

Barbara Cecilia Giblin
Barbara Cecilia Giblin, age 89, of Trumbull, Connecticut, beloved wife of the late John (Jack) Giblin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. Born in Bridgeport on May 10, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Madar) Mayernik. She is predeceased by her two cherished sisters, Anna Mae Carbone and Dorothy Altomare.
Barbara grew up on the east side of Bridgeport and graduated from Saint Cyril Commercial. She met the love of her life, Jack, while skating at the Mosque, and they married in 1958. Together, they raised five children in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport where she resided until 2012.
Barbara cherished her time as a devoted member of the St. Ann School and Church community. She later enjoyed a fulfilling 20 year career with the City of Bridgeport as a classroom aide at Anna Baum Skane School.
She enjoyed traveling with Jack and spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors. She especially enjoyed watching her grand and great grandchildren grow. She loved family gatherings, going to the casino, holidays, and visiting Long Island. She was also an avid reader.
She was a source of endless love, wisdom, and warmth to all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and kind heart touched so many lives, and she leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories that will live on in each of us.
Barbara is survived by her two daughters and three sons: Patricia Giblin of Trumbull; Donna Demarinis and husband Robert of Flanders, New York; John Giblin and wife Kathy of Trumbull; Stephen Giblin and wife Terri of Trumbull; and Daniel Giblin and wife Nancy of Trumbull.
