Barbara Roman Rhoads

RHOADS Barbara Roman Rhoads, age 77 of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, beloved wife to the late Hilbert Rhoads, passed away on Friday May 4, 2012 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Bridgeport, she was the daughter to the late John and Sylvia Lutinski Roman. A devout catholic, she was a very active member and volunteer of the St. Ann Parish. She also had served on the board of directors for Fayweather Towers. A devoted, loving mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed by her daughter Karen Hart of Sandy Hook; four grandchildren, Brandon Grasso, of Bridgeport, Kirstie Grasso, of Bridgeport, Taylor Grasso and Nicholas Grasso, both of Sandy Hook; one sister in-law, Vivian Sutton, and her husband, William, of PA; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was predeceased by a sister Jean Roman Jepson. Friends may greet the family on Sunday from 3 to 5 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday April 7, 2012 at 9:15 in the funeral home and 10 AM at St. Ann Church, Black Rock, with burial to follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery.
