Beatrice Benedict Obituary
Sandwich resident Beatrice S. Benedict, age 88, died Tuesday November 11, at the Falmouth Hospital in Falmouth. She was born on October 3, 1926 in Bridgeport, CT, the daughter of John and Amelia (Peredne) Stanis. She attended Bassick High School and Butler Business School. She worked as a secretary for the General Electric Co. in Bridgeport, CT. In October 1975, Beatrice was united in marriage to Stuart C. Benedict in Bridgeport, CT. "Bea" and "Stu" moved to Sandwich where they owned and operated a Cottage Colony. She also worked briefly for Fred O. Earle Oil Company. She was a Communicant of the Corpus Christi Parish in East Sandwich, where she was a member of the Women's Guild.Preceding her in death were her Parents, her husband Stuart, siblings; Mary White, and Frances Marin, and a niece Carol Leo. Those left to cherish her memory are nieces and nephews Patricia Karwan, Alicia Dougherty, Dennis White and Gerald Marin. Friends my share their respect with the family on Sunday, November 16, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rte. 6A, Sandwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Corpus Christi Parish on Monday, November 17, at 11:00 AM. Fr. George Harrison, celebrant. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers, Beatrice asked that people make donations to St. Vincent De Paul, c/o Corpus Christi Parish. Friends may send condolences and sign the register book at www.nickersonbournefunerahome.com

Very sad to hear this news. Just ran into her at Bobby Byrnes a couple of months ago! Great times at the cottages for the end of summer Lions Club parties each year. She & Stu were good friends of my parents and I really enjoyed them. Rest in peace Bea.

I often remember the wonderful times I had with Bea growing up across the street from her on Park Terrace. She will be remembered for her happy disposition and for being a good friend. Rest in peace with Stu.

I am so sorry for the loss of one of my oldest and dearest friends. Bea I loved you all my life and am so very glad we were able to see each other again last year. We had many good times together on Park Terrace especially on New Years Eve. Knowing you are at peace with your mom, dad, sisters, Carol and that oh so wonderful
Stu eases my broken heart. I will always remember you for your friendship, kindness and love.
