Nancy Dolan Obituary
Nancy M. Dolan, 87, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas M. Dolan.
Born on April 26, 1938, in Pelham, NY, Nancy was the daughter of the late Frederick and Florence Walsh Miller. In her younger years, she was inseparable from her sisters, Bobbie and Judy. She cherished time spent with family and friends at Fairfield Beach and had a natural ability to bring joy to every moment.
Nancy was known for her keen eye for style and decorating and her belief that everything should be "just right"-whether it was an outfit for an event or the perfect floral centerpiece. Her attention to detail carried into her professional life, where she became one of Fairfield's leading real estate agents. Above all, her greatest joy was her family and friends.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Thomas; her parents; and her sisters, Roberta "Bobbie" Gilhuly and Judith "Judy" Sobocinski. She is survived by her children: Thomas (Lynn), Mara (Dan) O'Day, Peter, Stephen (Amy), and Christopher (Carrie). She was the proud grandmother of Tommy III, Patrick, Tierney, Meghan, and Brendan; Christopher, Caroline, and Robert; and Taylor; and great-grandmother to Charles. She will be lovingly remembered by countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 25 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 S. Pine Creek Rd., Fairfield. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends and family may visit at Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S. Benson Rd., Fairfield, on Tuesday from 4–7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Nancy's name to St. Vincent's Swim Across the Sound. This foundation provides vital funds for cancer patients in the Fairfield Region to cover essential living expenses while in treatment.
