Susan Dolan Obituary

Sue Dolan, 71, died peacefully at her home in East Harwich on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Sue was the devoted wife of 50+ years to James Dolan. She fought so hard to beat the Cancer but unfortunately the Cancer won.

Born and raised in Elmira, NY, Sue was the daughter of Doris Depew. She graduated from Elmira Southside High School, where she met James. They would travel and go camping across the Northeast, but always found themselves retuning to Cape Cod, the second love of her life where they settled in 1985 and remained from then on.

It was here on the Cape that Sue forged her career in hospitality, including many years with Catania Hospitality Group Main Office as well as the Cape Codder Resort as accounting manager. Sue was generous with her home and time, hosting friends and family members from back home for vacations on the Cape. While she loved the Cape, she also loved her vacations; often in Maine, New Hampshire and the Adirondacks.

She absolutely loved rescuing her Huskies and is now reunited with Nala and Sheena. Her current Husky Chelsea will miss her greatly.

Many a Friday night was had with "the Gang" partaking of conversations, laughter, and possibly a Prosecco or two with dinner. Sue loved to travel but we won't bring up the trip to Las Vegas with the Fuzzy Cabs to her husband. Here at home, Sue had many friends around the Cape and always made herself available to help.

Sue was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening as she got older. She also enjoyed working on crafts with her cousin Becky as the cancer took hold.

Sue is survived by her beloved husband, James Michael, Cousin, Becky Davis, Sisters and Brothers in law Nancy Huonker, (Paul), Paula Cook (Dave), William Dolan (Linda), Christopher Dolan, Elizabeth Allington (Gary), Michael Dolan, and Michele Loud (Steve) and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A wake will be held at Chapman Funerals & Cremations - Blute Chapel 678 Main Street, Harwich Center on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 from 4pm until 7pm. Burial will be private at a future time.
