Glenn A. Rose, 83, of Harwich, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2026.

Glenn was born on February 16, 1943, to John and Agnes Rose. He grew up in Harwich surrounded by a large Cape Verdean family. Glenn graduated from Harwich High School and went on to attend Emporia College in Kansas, where he developed a lifelong passion for education, athletics, and mentorship.

After college, Glenn returned to Cape Cod, where he dedicated his 42-year career to teaching physical education, inspiring generations of students both in the classroom, on the basketball court, and on the field. An exceptional athlete and coach, he was known for his competitive spirit, encouragement, and commitment to helping young people reach their potential.

Outside of his professional life, Glenn loved sports and remained active for many years playing men's league basketball and softball. Whether competing on the court, coaching from the sidelines, or cheering others on, athletics remained a central part of his life and identity.

Glenn is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Rose; his daughter, Dyanna Rose; his son, Adam Rose and his wife, Hannah Conway; stepchildren, Kevin and Heidi Arena. He will be remembered for his dedication to family, his love of sports, and the many lives he influenced as a teacher and coach.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, former students, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 21, from 12-3 at Chapman Funerals and Cremations-Blute Chapel, 678 Main St., Harwich Center.
