To the Fitzpatrick family- I was so saddened and shocked to see that your dad has passed away. I work at Shelton Stop & Shop and truly, your dad was a very favorite customer of mine. I enjoyed talking with him. We cried together when your mom died, he told me of how much he would miss her. I'm crying again because it's hard to believe you all have to go through this so soon. Please accept my deepest sympathy on the deaths of both your mom and dad. I will certainly miss him.

Bernie, you are a role model for dads everywhere. Wise, warm, wonderful (and funny!). You make the world feel like a safer place for your children. You make strangers feel like old friends. You fill up a room with your big presence, your big personality, your big heart. The loss here is very great... but we know you are with God and with the love of your life, the bride of your youth. We will see you both soon. -Psalm 116:15
