Beverly Millard Moriarty

MORIARTY Beverly Millard Moriarty of Norwalk, wife of the late N. P. D. Inspector, Michael E. Moriarty, died Thursday in Honey Hill Health Care Center. She was 74. Born in Derby, July 28, 1934, daughter of the late Edward and Gladys Naramore Millard, she had been an area resident since the late 1960s, except for a brief stay in Canterbury in the mid '80s. Mrs. Moriarty was a hairdresser and a beloved babysitter. She also was at her late husband's side in Norwalk Police activities, both official and social. Survivors include two daughters, Cherie Fluegel of Batavia, Ohio, and Heather Ribellino of Norwalk; two sons, Col. Robert E. Moriarty, U.S.A.F., stationed in Ramstein, Germany, and James Daine of Greenwich; a brother, Edward Millard of St. Charles, Ill.; three sisters, Carol Wick of Tiffin, Iowa, Althea Millard of Milford, and Margaret Weiler of Ansonia; eight grandchildren, Devin Little, Scott Fluegel, Lauren and Ryan Moriarty, Dillon and Shannon Daine, Spencer Fluegel, and Mia Ribellino; and a great-granddaughter; Emma Little. Mrs. Moriarty was predeceased by her stepmother, Rose Millard, and another sister, Linda Garofalo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
