Brian Zahorsky Obituary
Brian M. Zahorsky, age 63, a lifelong Bridgeport resident passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at The Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Born in Bridgeport on July 5, 1957, he was the son of the late George S. and Florence Fitzgibbons Zahorsky. Brian was a Bridgeport Police officer 1985-1993 and later a CDL truck driver working for Santa and Kaufman Fuel Companies. He is survived by his sister, Catherine and her husband, Kevin, brother, David, nephews and niece, Steven, David Jr., Shane, Brett and Emily. He was predeceased by his brother Timothy and his nephew Brian. He enjoyed golf, his pets, long neighborhood walks greeting neighbors, feeding the wild animals in his yard, and his favorite sports teams – the Yankees and Cowboys. He was particularly proud that as a young man, his father who was an accomplished pilot, taught him to fly.
Brian had a humble wisdom and quiet faith in God that sustained him throughout his life and that shown through him to touch the hearts of others. He enjoyed and appreciated the comfort of his home and the love shared with his family and will be cherished as a loyal and loving son, brother, uncle and friend. His beautiful smile and twinkle in his eyes would lighten your heart.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:15 a.m. from the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may call Wednesday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Bridgeport Animal Shelter, 236 Evergreen Street, Bridgeport 06606. Dear Zahorsky Family,
My sincere condolences on Brian’s passing. I met him during our BPD Academy. Brian’s smile was a warm one, he was kind, considerate, compassionate, polite....qualities all parents want their child to exhibit throughout life. And, as “Life” throws us soft balls, hard balls, curve balls & foul balls, Brian handled each as best he could, and that is what God asks of us...to do the best WE can. Brian enters Eternal Life with our Lord in Heaven, reunited with those that have gone before him. Godspeed, Brian.

I am so sorry to hear of Brian's passing. I grew up with Brian in the 1970's. He always made our great group of friends laugh and made sure we all a great time regardless what we were doing. RIP Brian...
