Bruce S. Knapik Sr., age 78, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Geraldine (Kazimer) Knapik, entered peaceful rest on February 18, 2025, at Milford Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born to Ann and Stephen Knapik in Bridgeport, Bruce was a graduate of Bassick High School, where he played football and was an all-state swimmer. Bruce worked as a lifeguard at Seaside Park for 3 seasons, where he met his future wife, Geraldine. A graduate of the American Academy McAllister Institute of Embalming, Bruce worked in the funeral service for 11 years. Bruce then began a new career with the S.N.E.T. Company, as an installer and repairman and then as a cable splicer for 30 years until his retirement. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. They, like his children, were the light of his life. He leaves behind his son, Bruce Jr. and his wife Sherri of Beacon Falls, his daughter, Andrea and her husband Robert of Milford, and his three loving grandchildren, Sabrina and Stefanie Feher and Derek Knapik. Bruce is also survived by his nieces and nephew, Susan Feher and her husband John and Thomas and Denise Galanek, and his great-niece and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Gail Rimkus, his nephew, David Rimkus, his sister, Judith Galanek and his niece, Debra Galanek. The family will host a celebration of Bruce's life at a date to be announced.
