Cailin Currivan Obituary
Cailin Michele Currivan, age 26, of Rumford, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday February 27, 2016.
She was born in Norwalk, CT on November 25, 1989 a daughter of Thomas K. Currivan Jr. and Michele A. (Phelan) Currivan.
Cailin attended St. Theresa's Grammar School in Trumbull CT and graduated from Trumbull High School with a major in Agriscience, where she excelled in Basketball. She attended St. Joseph's College in Standish for two years.
She had been employed as a counselor with Oxford County Mental Health, and most recently was working at Circle K Deli in Mexico and Rumford House of Pizza.
Cailin loved fishing, hunting, swimming, camping, spending time with friends, and attending and throwing a good party.
Cailin loved life to the fullest and will continue to live on in others through the gift of organ donation.
Surviving are her parents, Thomas K. and Michele A. Currivan of Bridgeport, CT; a brother and close friend, Thomas K. Currivan III of Bridgeport, CT; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; She was predeceased by her maternal Grandparents James D. Phelan Sr. and Marion (Mannix) Phelan, paternal Grandparents Therese (Langevin) Currivan and Thomas K. Currivan Sr.; and a very special Aunt, Evelyn Langevin.

Your memorial service was beautiful. When I went to the podium to speak, before I said a word Bones let out one big huge "WOOF"!!!! So before I even spoke I said "Hi Bones" I know it was you and want to thank you for making it easier for me to speak since I got to talk to Bones first! I Love you so much and am sending prayers to your family. I know you are watching over all of us and will be just as protective and supportive as always. You taught everyone what it is like to know and experience true love. You are in my thoughts always. Just because I can't see you anymore doesn't mean we can ever be separated. I was blessed to have you in my life and wouldn't have traded it for anything. I will really miss us grooming together. Your talent with the animals was a gift. Your beautiful spirit is now free to fly high. I know you are soaring like the eagles. xoxo

It's Missy (Saad), from across the street on Westfield Ave.-way back when... I heard today that you lost your daughter, and my heart broke for you. I did not know her, but I spent a few moments looking at the photo gallery and reading the messages, and could see how beautiful she was-inside and out. I am so very sorry.

Cailin Im type this with tears streaming down my cheeks unable to grasp that you are gone.I remember our first meeting at my kennel, you came in with your mom and your dog Bandit. Shortly there after you needed volunteer hours for school, and so it began, you said I was your 2nd mom and you were the daughter I never had. You had that natural gift and ability to work w animals as I had, we shared many hours of questions and answers about "how come all the animals trust you even the crazy ones?" Lol..They also learned to trust you, your gift with them blossomed as you worked w me. I still have the blanket you made for me w the dog breeds all over it and it was knotted all the way around the edge.. Well kid I loved you then, i love you still, I cant wait till we see each other again. Michele I cant imagine, I just cant imagine.. I left a message dont even know if its the same number. Cailin knows that the hearts of her family are with her now and forever. Michele, it seems like yesterday that both of our parents were alive but now Cailin is with them in peace, surrounded by their love and the love of God. If your Aunt Marie were here right now she would be on the phone comforting you, she still is, just listen.

I have been on your facebook page a thousand times since Saturday. Reading posts, looking at your pictures. Wondering if I was going to ever write anything. We may not have been very close, but you were so close to my sister - to my family. I'm not sure what I even want to say. My heart hurts for every single person that is missing you right now. My heart hurts for my sister. And then I look at your beautiful pictures and my heart just hurts. It was too soon and you were too young. You had too many memories to make and too many things to do.
I don't have very many memories with you that are just mine - the last time that I saw you were grooming my puppy. It was a simple, quick memory. We laughed about Torin not being stern enough with Cleo. You gave me advice on how to train her. You gave me advice on how to clip her nails.
You are loved by so many. You have touched so many of us - in big and small ways. You ALWAYS made sure to say hi to me when you saw me.

Dear Cailin, I'm so very glad I knew you. Kind, funny & let's say, sassy!! It's sad to think of never seeing you again, that you're gone from this place. You have reminded me how perfect & precious life is. I know you can feel all this love, I hope it stays with your family forever. I'll think of you often, all of my love To Cailin's Mom, Dad & Brother; words can't express my sympathy. Cailin was amazing, truly one of a kind. She will be very missed. Last fall there was a kitten living on the front porch of our apartment. Naturally, Cailin made him a bed, was feeding him & treated him for fleas. Her goal was to take him in, but he didn't get along with Bones, so we have him now. His name is Franklin and he's doing great! He'll always remind us of Cailin. I hope you all know how much she was loved. I'll be thinking of you all. <3

I met Cailin briefly when she was dating josh Blanchard. Then met her again down the road and became a friend of hers thanks to Dawn Blackman, us girls shared many talks (mostly bashing boys) and about the beautiful babies Dawn and Cote Blanchard share together.
Once I found out Cailin did at home care for animals, I called her and made appointments for my dog. She came over twice but I wish it could've been more.
Such a good heart, head on her shoulders. I'll never forget her voice, her beautiful face and that gorgeously curly hair that I'm so jealous of! I saw her the night of her passing at Tommy Guns but never said hello, I'll forever live with that regret.

My Cailin Meee-chele. I am still at a loss for words. I am thinking of you and your family everyday, that will never change. I find myself half expecting you to walk through the door. All we can do is take this day by day. You will forver be in my heart. So many good memories over the past 10 years. You were our wild child. So full of energy, life and love. Everyone iv talked to has said what a good person and friend you were. You touched so many hearts. Always thinking of others before yourself. All of your friends knew you were the one they could call anytime of day or night. You were always there to listen to me, cry with me and celebrate with me. I'm gonna miss all the long phone calls talking about nothing. Or sitting in my driveway in your car for hours just chatting about our lives. We always said we didnt have a lot of friends, but we had good friends. And thats all that mattered. You told me I was always someone who you could tell anything to without judgment, we never kept anything from each other. You were my person.

I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart is full of sadness for you. I wish I new Cailin better, but I will cherish the memory of her quick and easy smile, as well as the way her eyes used to light up when she spoke of basketball.

I did not know miss cailin very well but whenever I did run into her at the store or anything she was full of smiles and the sweetest person. I knew some of her friends and we had hung out with some of the same people, she always told me how beautiful my children were and I myself was beautiful. She made me feel great on one of my really bad days just by walking into circle k and having small talk, telling me how beautiful my family was! She truly had a heart of gold as far as I could see and even though I never had the privilege of hanging out with her,she will forever be in my memory. My heart and prayers go out to all her family and friends effected by the loss of her beautiful life. She may be gone from this life but never forgotten. I did not have the pleasure of knowing knowing cailin on a personal note, just in pleasant passing, mutual friends.. This woman made a very lasting impression on all who knew of her, she was sweet, beautiful, smart, and seemed to have an amazing personality that made people want to be around her, I have been on her FB page and I have never seen such an out pooring of love, and sadness..seems she was an angel walking among us, I'm so very sorry for the huge loss you have all experienced, and my prayers are with everyone affected by this truly saddening tragedy, I have shed tears just from reading the MANY posts and profile pictures being changed to her face on so many timelines, its a very sad week, month, years, I do not know if she was spiritual or religious but I whole heatedly believe that she is in a beautiful place making new relationships, and watching over you all, the lord seems to take the best, unfair on earth but the short 26 years we were blessed to have her she brought joy to everyone who knew her, and that smile... My heart felt prayers go out to all of you grieving, and as the poem "Dash" tells us, the date of your birth, and the date of your passing mean little in comparison to the dash in the middle..may ur dreams be beautiful, and peace find you all. I'm still waiting for a text from you.. We've been friends since we first met and over the past year you grew to be more like the sister I never had, wether it was a night out, a speckled mountain loop or trip up hedgehog, or just seeing each other in passing we never went more than a couple days apart. We were always there for each other when we needed to vent about anything or anyone knowing it would never get out. You'll always hold a special place in my heart. It is terrible to have someone pass on, but it is even more terrible to have it be someone you have known since they were born, someone you have seen every summer grow from a baby to a young woman, someone you consider to be an intrinsic part of the world you inhabit. Tom and Michele have been there my whole life, and their wonderful children Thomas and Cailin have been a part of our little Roxbury Pond family their whole lives. I can only say that I will miss the quiet, intelligent happy little girl that I knew and I will always regret the loss of the wonderful person that I know she was, but I deeply believe that when we are gone we find a place of perfect love and perfect peace and that there is no need to fear for her. Tom and Michelle, please know that I love you both and that you will always have a family here for you, to love you, to distract you and to comfort you when it is too much for you to face alone. I will always walk through the shallow, reed-strewn water to find your little beach. I will always welcome you at our little campfire. You are always loved.
