Calvin Edmonds Obituary

EDMONDS Calvin E. Edmonds, age 52 of Bridgeport died Monday, July 16, 2007 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born in Halifax, Va., Calvin was educated in the Bridgeport public school system then moved to Virginia and finally moved back to Bridgeport for good in 1976. He was a landscaper by trade, employed by private homeowners. His parents, five brothers and a sister predeceased him. Survivors include seven brothers, Lawrence and Gregory Edmonds of Bridgeport, Elijah Edmonds of Stratford, Nathaniel, Preston, and Joseph Edmonds and Willie Womack all of Virginia; six sisters, Dorothy Younger and Beatrice Edmonds of Bridgeport, Annie Williams of Stratford, Hazel Edmonds of Meriden, Carolyn Jackson of New York, and Hallie Sparks of Virginia; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Local services will be held Wednesday 7 p.m. at Morton's Mortuary, 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport. Friends are invited to the viewing Wednesday from 6-7 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place Saturday in Blue Rock Cemetery, Vernon Hill, Va., after a service in Virginia.
