Cameron Howe Obituary
Cameron James Howe, age 20 of Westport CT, beloved son of Jim and Patti Howe and loving brother of Caroline Howe passed away September 6, 2012 in Santa Barbara, CA. Cameron was born in Manhattan, and he and his family are long time residents of Westport CT. Cameron lived more in his 20 years than most live in a long lifetime. He had a zest for life and dedication to follow his dreams. This led Cameron to attend high school at Stratton Mountain School in Vermont, where he graduated with honors while competing as a nationally ranked snowboarder. For college he chose to go west and move from the snow to the surf, attending the University of California Santa Barbara - he would have been a junior this Fall. The outpouring of support and love from his friends on Facebook has been amazing, speaking about a person with the biggest smile and biggest heart - a gentle, sensitive soul who has left his mark on so many lives. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. A service celebrating his life will be held this Saturday September 15th at 11:00am at Greens Farm Church, 71 Hillandale Road, Westport CT 203-227-2728. There will be a casual reception following the service at the church. Interment will be private. He was predeceased by his grandparents Mary and Angelo Peccini of Plymouth MA. In addition to his parents and sister he leaves behind his grandparents Phylis and Burdette Howe of Ellington, NY; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate your donations to an organization called STOKED Mentoring http://www.stoked.org.
STOKED IS AN ACTION SPORTS YOUTH DEVELOPMENT non-profit organization. Their Mission is to promote the personal development, academic achievement, and healthy living to under-served youth through action sports culture. Their focus is on snowboarding, surfing and skateboarding - everything that Cameron loved. They have offices in both Los Angeles and New York City. My deepest condolences to the family. I read about Cameron today in the church Steeple and although I didn't know him he sounds like he was a wonderful and very well liked young man. I remember when I had Caroline in the threes class at St. Paul's, you could tell she loved her big brother. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

My husband and I had the great pleasure of meeting you at our son's graduation party. Our hearts go out to you and your family during this difficult time. I never had the pleasure of meeting Cameron, however our daughter Sarah was just beginning to establish a lovely friendship with Cameron. We can't imagine your pain.

although I didn't know Cameron personally, This young fella had given my son a place to lay his head when he arrived in CA for his new adventure in life..I am sadden to hear of Cameron's death and only send prayers and love to your family...I know my son flew in from CA on thursday to pay hiks respects for him and his family.

My condolences to the entire Howe family. I had the pleasure of being Cameron's 6th grade teaacher at Bedford Middle School, and I cannot believe that he has left us so soon. My heart goes out to Cameron's mom and dad and to Caroline during this very sad time.

I never met your son but my son is heartbroken over your loss and so is the whole UCSB community..They are having a memorial for your son tonight.
