Carl Heitmann Obituary

HEITMANN Carl H. Heitmann, age 81 of Shelton, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Griffin Hospital. He was born in Trenton, N.J. on May 28, 1929, son of the late Peter and Cecelia Krulikowski Heitmann. Carl retired from his position as a senior buyer at Avco-Lycoming in Stratford in 1987 after 35 years of service. During his years of service, he made many friends that kept in contact with him during his retirement years. He is the beloved brother of Edward Heitmann, Peter Heitmann, Cecelia Heitmann and Dorothy Rogowski. "Uncle Carl" also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Though he did not have children of his own he was a man that was all about family. He learned from his father and he cared about and provided for his family his entire life. He was never happier than with a lap full of children reading them the Sunday comic strips. He also leaves his life long friend Alberta Weiler and her children, especially her grandsons, Jacob and Matthew. In his younger days, he was an avid bowler, bowling on a league at The Valley Bowl for many years. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. His burial with military honors will be on Friday at 1 p.m. in the Riverview Cemetery, 870 Center St., Trenton NJ. Friends may leave condolences at www.riverviewfh.com.

My hopes and prayers are extended to the Heitmann family. I worked with Carl for many years at Avco. He was a man of his word and loved
by all who met him.
