Carlo Palmieri Obituary

Carlo Palmieri
Carlo Palmieri, age 88, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Elena Incitti Palmieri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 2, 1930 in Torrice, Province of Frosinone, Italy, he was a son of the late Luigi and Maria Cefaloni Palmieri. Before his retirement from the Diocese of Bridgeport Catholic Cemeteries, he was a member of the Laborer's Union and a longtime employee of the Frouge Construction Company. He was very proud of his Italian heritage and always kept up on Italian politics and news, by reading the Italian newspaper. He had a great sense of humor, always bringing a smile to everyone's face. He enjoyed gardening and making wine. However, his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his three generations of grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all. In addition to his beloved wife Elena of 63 years, survivors include three daughters, Maria Goings and her husband Richard of Milford, Linda Marini and her husband Enrico of Trumbull and Rossana Palmieri of Bridgeport, six grandchildren, Christopher Goings, Lisa Marini, Richard Goings, Anna White and her husband Daniel, Jessica Goings and Carla Psarofagis and her husband Georgios, seven great grandchildren, Crystal Provo, Alexander Tapia, Jada Artis, Olivia, James and Maddie White and Lucas Psarofagis, one great, great granddaughter, Ashlynn Provo, two sisters, Alessandra and America Palmieri, both of Italy, a brother, Fernando Palmieri of Shelton, brother-in-law, Domenico Berardi of Italy, sister-and brother-in-law, Giuseppina and Gildo Nicolia of Monroe, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Renato Palmieri, Verlanda Marini, Domenico Palmieri and Pasqualina Palmieri. Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

May you find joy and comfort in the memories of Dad Palmieri. He welcomed me into his home with a kind smile that warmed the room. I loved to hear him talk about his homeland and making wine. He never tired from helping where needed and I never tried of hearing how amazing he was at cutting grass, painting the house, caring for Cody, and playing with his Grands. He was so proud of his family.

Dad Palmieri was well loved and will be greatly missed.

Uncle Carlo, You were one of the great ones. Your humor and ability to make everyone laugh was like no other. People could not see you without smiling, or saying "Jackie", "Jerry" or "Jeza Paradiza". The banter you had with Aunt Elena was like watching a comedy routine. The love we saw with you both was inspirational. We were blessed to have such a character in our family. Thank you for the great memories. I hope Heaven can get used to the 6 - 12 - 6 schedule. :) Rest in peace Zio, you are in great company up there. Love & Peace from all of us
