Our thoughts and prayers are with Scott, Erica, Katrina, Mark and Wayne and family at Carol's passing. We are so glad we got to know Carol and to hear of all those she has blessed. Carol is in the presence of her Lord and Savior and we'll see her again some day.

We will surely miss you. You will always be remembered for all that you have done for so many. Our Lord Jesus will welcome you into Heaven. To your family, I know you will miss Carol. She has gone to a better place and will look down on you from Heaven always.

As one of the many colleagues gifted to be in the same department and school as Carol, there is little that I can add to the litany of superlatives necessary to characterize what she brought to the classroom each day. Her steadfast assertion, that teaching requires loving your students, will forever echo in the minds of every student who had the great fortune of having her and every teacher who saw her eyes light up when she talked about, "her kids". While we playfully engaged in a tug-of-war between the value and merits of AP European History vs. AP United States History, she challenged me to produce the most engaging experiences for our students. Having the benefit of being in her room for her "send-off party" on the last day of her teaching career, I can say without question that her students loved her as much as she loved them. I had to stand on a desk far to the back of the classroom, while a vast thrall of perhaps one-hundred students enveloped her. The tears, the laughter and the joy blended together into a symphony of triumph and admiration. If ever I beheld a real-life scene from "Mr. Holland's Opus", this was art becoming life. Please accept both my condolensces for your loss and gratitude for her contributions. cP

Dr. Sam was the Homeroom Teacher for two of our children, and she was a huge influence on them. She was the most welcoming person. She loved talking about England to me, an Englishman. It was obvious that she loved what she did with every fibre of her being. Emily and I send our condolences to all her family for your irreplaceable loss.
