1941 - 2024
CarolAnn Mattsson, 82, of Fairfield, the beloved wife of the late Stig Mattsson, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 5, 2024, with her daughter by her side. She was born in West Hartford to the late Anna (Torok) Rodak and was a graduate of Bullard Havens, where she was the Valedictorian. Mrs. Mattsson was a Customer Service Representative at People's Bank for over 36 years, in both the Greens Farms and Westport branches.
Funny and sweet, yet determined and independent, CarolAnn played life by the book. She was an accomplished equestrian, who had a registered quarter horse, and could be found riding at Sonnenhof Equestrian Center in Easton. CarolAnn also loved nature, gardening and birding.
CarolAnn is survived by her devoted daughter, Christina Mattsson of Fairfield and brothers, Jerome Rodak of Shelton and Richard Rodak of Texas.
Friends may greet her family on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd., in Fairfield. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions can be made to The Pilot House, 1230 Merwins Lane, Fairfield, CT 06824, which is an equestrian program for children with disabilities.
