Charlene McDermott

MCDERMOTT Charlene Traverse McDermott, age 63, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Gregory J. McDermott, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on April 30, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Traverse. She had worked in the cafeteria for the Fairfield Prepatory School and enjoyed time spent with her family. She will be deeply missed. Survivors include two loving children, Scott McDermott of Bridgeport and Michele McDermott and her husband Paul Mahler of Torrington, a cherished granddaughter Morgan Elizabeth, a brother, Marc Traverse and his wife Nichole of California, her mother-in-law, Judith McDermott of Bridgeport, her "second daughter" Betsy Wills Hlavac and dear friends Chuck and Betsy DeAngelis of Stratford. Prayer services will take place on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. At Charlene's request, please dress casual and wear jeans to the visitation and services.
