Charlotte Boman Obituary

Charlotte "Billie" Boman
Charlotte "Billie" Boman, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Milford Hospital, following a 10 month health battle. She was born on February 19, 1938 in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and lived there until she married Edward "Ted" Boman on August 25, 1984. They moved to Milford where they resided until her passing. Charlotte's life can be defined by her love and delight in her family and friends, nature, dogs and being by the water.
Charlotte was an only child and she and Edward had no children. However, she had a wonderful group of cousins and their families to whom she was very close to. In addition to her husband, she will be missed dearly by family and friends including: Jeff and Joanne Lickel, Brian and Mary Kilduff, Patricia Rolls, Barbara and Dermot O'Farrell, Charles and Ray Lickel, Kenneth Lickel, Linda weeks, and Judy and Steve Salerno and their children. Her closest companion over the last six years was her loving caretaker, Doreen Fischetti. The last happy moment she had was a few weeks ago when she and Doreen walked to her favorite spot, Woodmont Beach in Milford.
Charlotte embraced all four seasons and loved winters with snow, spring flowers, swimming in the summer and taking in the beautiful foliage of autumn. She was at peace by the water and spent 82 summers at Miller Place, Long Island. It all began when she was 2 and jumped out of the boat and began to swim. As a teenager, she became an avid sailor. As a young adult, Charlotte was a swim instructor at the YWCA and specialized in working with blind and handicapped children.
Charlotte and Edward swam, snorkeled and scuba dove at the Great Barrier Reef and in Hawaii and various areas of the Caribbean. They also shared a passion for animals, especially dogs. She always had a pet dog and since they were married, they raised four golden retrievers. She was also particularly close to Jeff and Joanne's dogs and all the pets loved to play together.
Charlotte's family would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff at Milford Hospital, who lovingly cared for during her various stays there. They are truly incredible people.
Friends are invited to greet her family on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 12-2:00 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield. Interment is private.
Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Operation Smile, 3641 Faculty Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23453. To send an online condolence, please visit www.shaughnesseybanks.com.

There are no words to express the sadness in my heart from the loss of my dearest friend. I will never forget the kindness, generosity and compassion that you and your husband have showed me the last six years. Thank you for so many memories, the walks on the beach, talks and all the dog watching. You will be forever in my heart. Rest in peace my friend until we meet again. xoxo
