Christopher Milne Obituary

MILNE Christopher John Milne, age 44, of Shelton, formerly of Fairfield, passed away peacefully due to complications of diabetes. Christopher was an alumnus of Andrew Warde High School. A member of the soccer team at Warde, Chris returned to coach the freshman boy's team. Chris was formerly employed by Nelson Ambulance as an EMT. He was also a volunteer firefighter in Fairfield, and a member of Rescue 35. Christopher lived his life with humor and grace in the face of a lifelong illness. His children were his inspiration, his greatest love and his joy. Chris was the son of the late Margaret and Robert Milne. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret 'Cookie' Zengou. Chris is survived by his loving children, Robert, Cahill, Kelsey and Brian, and their mother, Traci. He is also survived by a sister, Patricia Lucas and her husband, William, of Fairfield; and a brother, Michael Milne and his wife, Debra, of Monroe. Also left behind are his loving aunt, Ethel Lautala of Bridgeport; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will take place at a later date. Burial will be in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. The Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport, is in care of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Chris' children through the funeral home. The Milne family would like to thank the caregivers at Gardner Heights Health Care and the caregivers of the Connecticut Hospice program. They are a model of compassionate care.

Chris was my soccer coach in 1981.

A great guy to be around and a nice person. May he rest in peace.

Chris and I were childhood friends in Fairfield. We used to play basketball, four squares, hot box and more with my brothers and sisters and the rest of the neighborhood kids. Playing cards in his kitchen with his dad and others. Through the years, our paths crossed several times. From the Surfside in Fairfield to living in Stamford back in the late eighties to Riverton. He was always there to give a helping hand. I remember how much he loved his children.

May God bless Chris and his family.

Sincerely,

Lisa Mello

Hi, my name is Lisa Mello. I know Chris's family well. They lived two houses down the street from me even before I was in school, and I am now in 8th grade. Kelsey was my best friend, she was always there for me and so was her dad. Her dad was like a second dad to me. You would always find me at her house. My dad went into work early, so on school days I would go down to her house, and sometimes Kelsey wouldnt even be there, but that never stopped Chris from gettin up and taking me to school. He was always funny and kind. I will never forget him. I'm so sorry cahill, kelsey, rob, and brian. I love you guys
