Cyrilla Santo Obituary

SANTO Cyrilla Redway Santo, born June 20, 1926, at 84 years of age, peacefully came to rest August 3, 2010 at home surrounded by her loved ones. "Cy" was born and raised in South Norwalk and moved to Easton to raise a family for her last 41 years. After raising her children and retiring at the age of 68, she fulfilled her high school yearbook ambition to travel the world throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Africa and Asia. Young at heart (para-sailing at the age of 78 in Thailand), Cyrilla always encouraged her children to readily accept every opportunity and to enjoy, in its entirety, all of what life could bring. She consciously ensured that she kept herself current with the culture of younger generations (attending rock concerts) making relationships with her children so very close and special. Her absence as a mother and friend will be dearly missed. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, David L. Santo; three children, Dean Haines, David and Gregory Santo; five grandchildren, Storm and Charlie Lampman, Brooke and Kai Santo, and Quintin Haines. She was predeceased by her two elder sisters, Dolores Pasquale and Patricia Mills. A service at St. Joseph's Church, 85 South Main Street in Norwalk will take place this Saturday, August 7th at 10 a.m. followed by lunch at Harbor Lights Restaurant, 82 Seaside Ave., Norwalk.
