What a beautiful thing to do for the memory of David for his family. He looks so much like his wonderful Dad. We loved & knew his folks Keith &Randi so well. We all were active in Pathfinders at First Pres. in Colo. Springs plus we played Pinochle together for many years. How special David followed in his Dad's footsteps working with youth in education. Please know we have David's family plus Dana in our thoughts & prayers especially today & are praising the Lord he's in heaven with both Keith & Randi. May our Lord surround you all that remain with the Lord's strength, comfort & peace.

Dear Susan and Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you live with loss of David . I was so sad to hear of his passing , I have so many great memories of you guys when we first got out of school . I will never forget all the great times I had with Bob and him....they both left us way too soon.
There is a quote I heard when my father passed away that I have always found comforting
" What we once enjoyed and deeply loved
we can never loose
for all that we love deeply
becomes a part of us"

Not a day has gone by that I haven't thought about the wisdom and good times we shared. Not sure how I landed at CHS but I can certainly say that you and a handful of people made me grateful and proud to be there. Watching your relationship building with the students and your support of our athletic program was inspiring. The love of your family and the gleam of pride in your eye when you spoke of them confirmed my own love of being a father. I miss you Dave. You touched so many lives. I will forever be grateful to have been a colleague and friend. Till we meet again, may your spirit soar in freedom and peace .

David- from the first time I spoke to you I could tell how you could lighten a room and make people smile. Susan would smile so big when she spoke about you.
You gave me article once about the traits of a good husband. I still have it and in the past 5 years since you gave it me i had to bust it out and read again as a reminder.
I hope you are cooking with a lot of butter and eating a lot of cookies :) You are missed but will never be forgotten. Ox

Dave in the short time I got to know you and living with you I got to see first hand the amount of respect and generosity you had for others, you always could brighten my day and I'm sure anyone else you came into contact with. If there's one thing you emphasized it was the love you had for your wife and kids. Always every night that was your topic of discussion. I'm glad I get to call you a friend and I know i gained one heck of an angel to watch over me. I got to talk to Susan and she asked me to do one thing in your honor and that's fight for my sobriety everyday, and I will do my absolute best to keep that promise to her. Love ya bro!

Although I only David for a short period of time, I got to spend a lot of time with him. He loved his family more than words can say. He used to brag about how smart Susan is, how tough and independent Morgan is and what a free spirit Harrison is. I admired David because he always showed up when he was needed. He understood what it means to be a good friend. He had the ability to laugh even when life was dealing some tough blows. I'll miss him and the good times we shared.

I grew up with David in Colorado Springs. We went to junior high together, played soccer, road dirt bikes and experienced adolescent angst. There was a little gang of us. After high school we all went different ways but the fond memories of David have always remained. He was kind, thoughtful, empathetic and loved to laugh. That is how I remember him and I suspect how he remained. I don't know what happened. And it doesn't matter. We had only reconnected through Facebook a couple months ago (after 30 years), which is how I learned of his passing. My prayers go out to his family and to his parents and sister (whom I use to visit at his house on the cultisack in Colo Sprgs) RIP David.

Mr. Christy was an amazing man, him and his wife have always treated me like apart of the family. His beautiful daughter Morgan is my best friend and I am completely devastated to hear of his passing. Mr. Christy kept me laughing always, especially at family dinner. There's aren't even enough words to express my condolences to Morgan and Harry and Mrs. Christy. This man had a true smile that would literally light up the room, as well as a contagious laugh. Rest in peace Mr. Christy you will be forever missed.

I only knew David a short but during that time he showed me the type of high caliber person he is. He helped me during a difficult time in my life and was someone I looked up to and respected. I am sure he is in a happier place but I know he will be missed dearly by those that love him. We need more David Christy's in this world. I wish the best for David's family.

I first met Dave in the summer of '83. I was returning to CSU after a year and a half off. I was feeling a little out of place, as, many of the people I knew had just graduated, or soon would be.

Dave, and Bob Clark, who also left us too soon, welcomed me with open arms.

They taught me the joy of "dork bikes", plaid Bermuda shorts, and, finding humor in everything we experienced.

The most powerful lesson I learned from Dave was the notion of not worrying about what you couldn't control... and instead, focusing on what you could.

That process of "letting go" was a revelation to me. I haven't always been perfect in "letting go", but, it is a concept that I pursue everyday, and Dave planted those seeds in me over 30 years ago...

... thank you for that Dave...

In the early 1980s, when I joined a Fraternity at Colorado State University, I was lucky enough to cross paths with David. We soon became close friends, sharing a passion for the game of soccer, 2 on 2 beach volleyball, and billiards.

I also remember him telling me about meeting a certain sorority girl named Susan. From that day, they were never apart.

David and Susan were great friends to me during college, and later to my wife, Michele, when they moved from Denver to Easton, CT. We spent quality time playing Billiards and laughing until the early morning hours sometimes searching for Dutchess when she escaped from the backyard.

We asked David to be godfather to our oldest daughter, Olivia. I chose Dave because he has the biggest heart out of all of my friends. Throughout college, he would spend time with the homeless and less fortunate, and would provide hope/guidance to their lives. He also had the most "handyman" skills and helped me build a deck in our first condo in Boston. He was always puttering around his house and had multiple projects going at the same time.

As a father, David was incredibly proud of his children. He would light up whenever we discussed their lives, their activities, and their accomplishments.

David, my friend, you will be greatly missed by all of the people that had the privilege to appreciate your ginormous heart, sense of humor, and passion to make a difference in lives of the less fortunate.

All of our love and prayers to Susan, Morgan, Harry and family/friends.
