David Fortuna Obituary

FORTUNA David A. Fortuna, (Dave), age 52, of Trumbull, died of a heart attack on Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Born in Bridgeport on March 26, 1954, he was a son of Anthony and Ida Marchio Fortuna of Trumbull. A 1972 graduate of Trumbull High School, he attended Syracuse University, graduating from the University of Bridgeport. David was an avid Yankees fan, enjoyed gardening and was a devoted parishioner of St. Theresa's Church. He always had a joke to share with his friends and will always be remembered for his wonderful smile and always having a hug for everyone. Dave's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Bill and Dr. John who for 15 years devoted much of their time and effort to seek alternative ways to effectively treat Multiple Sclerosis. In addition to his parents, survivors include two daughters, Beth Fortuna of Colorado, and Karen Fortuna of Pennsylvania; a brother, Paul Fortuna and his wife, Angela, of Indiana; two sisters, Rosemary D'Luhy and her husband, Les, of Trumbull, and Patti Stannard and her husband, Paul, of Rhode Island; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Christopher, Amy and Anthony; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by longtime close friends, Louie Ramos, Steve Wright and Diane; and his neighborhood children as well as several other close and dear friends. We will always have fond memories of good times we had together. I'll never forget the night Dave stayed up with me while I was having labor pains with Jodi. Dave remembers his fishing trips together and how much fun we had. Sorry we can't be with you at the funeral as we are out of state, but our girls will be there with all our love.
