David Sanzone Obituary

David W. Sanzone
David Wayne Sanzone, age 65, of Trumbull passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Lisa (Dudak) Sanzone. Born in Waterbury on January 24, 1957, he was a son of the late Pasquale J. and Gilda (Bredice) Sanzone. David was in the graduating class of 1975 at Kennedy High School in Waterbury before attending Kaynor Technical School. A remarkably gifted craftsman and cabinet maker by trade, Dave worked for many years as a remodeling contractor before his subsequent retirement in 2020. He was a gifted woodworker and some of his creations in his own home and for others are nothing short of spectacular. He loved all types of music, from classic rock to Bob Marley. He enjoyed being surrounded by nature, whether it be watching birds or hiking and most recently he had found a passion for cooking. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed football but also enjoyed coaching his son's basketball team at a time. David was an easy-going, free spirit, people person with a knack for carrying on long conversations with people he had just met. He also was renowned for his ability to provide nicknames for everyone he had acquaintances with, whether you were aware of those names or not. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife Lisa of 27 years, other survivors include his loving children, Jeffrey Sanzone (Stasia Gruendig) of Northfield, Alisha Sanzone (Will Sirotnak) of Cromwell, Nicholas Sanzone (Jessica Mooney) of Trumbull, and Brittany Fabrizio (Steve Pronechen) of Trumbull, his cherished grandchildren, Mason Fabrizio, Baily, Jacob, Cassidy, Hannah, Grace and Autumn Sanzone, and Jackson and Phoenix Pronechen, his brothers, Richard Sanzone of Ocala, FL, and Charles Sanzone (Maureen) of Watertown, his sister, Marybeth Hauser (Mike) of Watertown, his sister-in-law, Mary Sanzone of Stuart, FL, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was also extremely close to his sister-in-law, Linda Mako (Sean Riddle) and cousin, Karin McMahon (George), all of Oxford, who have provided endless support over the last few years. He was predeceased by his step son, Kevin "Vi" Fabrizio, his brother, Kenneth Sanzone and sister-in-law, Cheryl Sanzone.
