David J. Wanat

WANAT David J. Wanat, age 64, husband of Carolyn L. Wanat, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 2, 2011 at Gaylord Hospital. David was born in Meriden on August 28, 1947. He was the son of the late Albin and Loretta Wanat. David was a Maloney High School graduate, Class of 1965, and furthered his education to pursue his own dreams at the University of New Haven where he received a Masters of Business Administration. David worked at Cuisinart and served as the Director of Engineering, an intelligent asset to the company. David was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Meriden. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was always a man of kind words who would put a smile on someone's face without trying. David had a passion for playing golf, reading, riding his motorcycle, boating, skiing and snow-mobiling. He was also a role model to many youths as their Ed Walsh Little League baseball coach. Besides his wife Carolyn, he is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Wanat and her fiancé, James Anderson Jr.; son, Todd Wanat and his fiancé, Monica Pensanti and son, Ryan Wanat. David's brothers, Philip Wanat of Meriden, Ronald Wanat and his wife, Carol of Hebron, and Peter Wanat and his wife, Pearl of Meriden. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, by his mother-in-law, Hilda Moratti of Meriden, and sister-in-law, Janet Kozakiewicz and her husband, Joseph of Trumbull. He is also survived by his faithful dog, Precious. David will be remembered as a kind, genuine and caring man who always put the feelings of others in front of his own. He will be remembered by his wife of 40 years as her "high school sweetheart" and by his children as their strongest influence of their lives. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call in the John J.
