David Warner Obituary

David Michael Warner
David Michael Warner (Davey Boy), age 58, entered into eternal rest on January 28, 2018 at St. Vincent's Hospital after a five year battle with COPD. David was born in Miami, Florida, the son of the late Jane and George Warner and resided in Bridgeport throughout most of his life.
David was the husband of Mary Ellen Warner, a devoted father to his son David Jr. (DJ) and stepsons, Daniel Smith and Wayne Smith. David also left his loving sister Barbara Larocca and husband, Philip; brothers, Robert Warner of Bridgeport and Kenneth Warner of Milford (all three known as the "Warner Brothers of Merritt Street"), and Thomas Faye and wife, Janice, of Sandy Hook, along with several nieces and nephews. David had an amazing gift. He will be remembered as the "King of Handyman Kingdom". There was nothing, big or small, that David couldn't install or repair or somehow make work, and he just loved driving to and from Home Depot for supplies in his Ford Explorer.
Life handed him a few hard
knocks;
Sometimes his luck was bad.
He had the usual ups and
downs
As most of us have had.
Grief [and struggles had their]
day along his way,
Great fortune passed him by.
But he always came out a
winner
With a twinkle in his eye.
This legacy of laughter,
A gift from some forbear.
Was all the weapon that he
had
To fight life's pain and care,
But he kept his sense of
humor.
And he laughed away the
tears,
And he went on spreading
chuckles
All around him down the
years.
And I know I'll find him
waiting.
When I join him by and by.
Likely [fixing or installing
something]
With that twinkle in his eye.
Thanks to all at Regal Care in Southport, and Bridgeport Manor in Bridgeport who took care of David during his final years. At David's request, all services will be held privately.
