Diana Hernandez Obituary
Diana Hernandez, age 46, of Bridgeport, loving wife of 17 years to William Hernandez, passed away peacefully Monday, February 10, 2025 with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of Gonzalo and Cecilia Ponce Avila who was her best friend and confidant, whom was extremely proud of the fact that she made her name working at St. Vincent's Hospital taking care of many as a devoted healthcare worker where she was both beloved and admired. A graduate from Bullard Havens High school. She will be truly missed by all the lives she touched.
In addition to her loving husband William, she leaves behind her pride and joy, Willy Hernandez, whom she thought the world of.
She is survived by her mother-in-law, Elsa Montanez (Ricardo) her father-in-law, Mariano Sanchez Jr, her aunts Julia Caraballo (Arthur) Minerva Laracuente (Arnold), her uncle Raul Ruiz Sr (Maria's sons') and cousins, Tania Ruiz and Raul Ruiz Jr.
A total of 12 nieces, 15 nephews, 3 brothers-in-law, 5 sisters-in-law, 4 aunts, 4 uncles and a host of loving friends such as our baseball community and her Hartford healthcare family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 12 noon in the Commerce Hill Dougiello Funeral Home, 4798 Main St., Bridgeport. Calling hours will take place on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her sons' education.
