Diane Margiano, age 79, of Derby entered into rest on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the
Connecticut Hospice in Branford, with her loving family by her side. She was the
devoted wife of the late Dominic T. Margiano, Jr., of Shelton, CT. A lifelong resident of Derby, Diane was born on October 6, 1936, the daughter of the late Herbert Linsley and Sarah Ann (Teevan) Ruwet. She dedicated her life to the teaching profession, specializing in early elementary education at The New Irving School for 37 years before her retirement. Diane was an avid lover of animals and constant supporter of those in need, donating to countless charities. In addition to spending time with family and friends, she enjoyed the arts, literature, music, and dancing. Diane is the much beloved mother of Craig T. Margiano, Dina S. Gotowala, Suzanne G. Margiano and her husband Ronald W. Dunham, and Scott A. Margiano, Sr. and his wife Carol. She is the adoring grandmother of Jennifer Ryan, Joseph Park, III, Sarah Park, Leigh Margiano, Scott Margiano, Jr., and Ashley Margiano. Diane is also the loving great-grandmother (Gi-Gi) of three beautiful children: Emma Diane, Madison Elizabeth, and Caleb Joseph. She was predeceased by her sister, Beverly Ann Ruwet, and brother, Herbert Linsley Ruwet, Jr. Diane was also beloved by a large extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Friends may greet Diane's family on Thursday, June 16, from 10:00 AM to 12 PM in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 12 PM, followed by burial in Mount St. Peter Cemetery.
