Diane Pereiro Obituary

Pereiro, Diane Grace
Diane Grace Pereiro (Renkavinsky), age 70, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Friday July 24, 2015 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Bridgeport on January 26, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Jacek Pereiro. After graduating from Bridgeport's Central High School, class of 1963, she worked in the training department at Sikorsky. Diane later moved to Monroe, with her then husband Richard, where she became a mother and resided for over thirty years. She enjoyed breeding parakeets, and making realistic sketches. She was an avid Christian, enjoying the opportunity to both share her story of salvation and serve the Lord. She was also a two time cancer survivor. Upon returning to Bridgeport, she worked for Catholic Charities and Jewish Family Services where she was honored with a Family Champion award by the Connecticut Counsel of Family Service Agencies. She is survived by her son Aron Renkavinsky and his wife Shanna Renkavinsky of Terryville, and her beloved grandchildren Caleb and Noah. She is also survived by her former spouse of 34 years Richard Renkavinsky of Easton, her sister Kathleen Pereiro Cody of Bridgeport, and her niece Patricia Cody Beneway of Danbury, and nephew Mark Cody of Shelton. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday at 11:00a.m, in Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or Jewish Family Services (Bridgeport). To send online condolences please visit www.redgatehennessy.com

Time flies by so quickly and it is hard to believe that it has been five years since Dianne's passing She is one of those "special people" who come into your life for a reason and even though she is now with The Lord in the Eternal Kingdom the memory of her warmth in her voice her sense of humor and her desire to help especially with Caring Connections in scheduling rides for us who cannot drive leaves a lasting memory Her depth of Scripture knowledge and her ability to live the Faith set an example to be imitated and not forgotten One of the drivers for Caring connections was William Shaughnessy whom I met through Dianne's scheduling and we became close friends. Bill is now with The Lord and I'm sure he and Dianne are having some great conversations Dianne you are missed and always will be and although we never met in person here in this life I look forward to meeting you when it is my time to be with The Lord as well you are greatly missed and never will be forgotten Rest In Peace after a life well lived and may your family feel God's Healing and Consoling touch

I have been using Caring Connections for many years run initially by The Catholic Center and most recently by Jewish Family Services. It was through Caring Connections that I "met" Dianne. We had many phone conversations about life and Christian Faith as I am a practicing Catholic and her knowledge of Scripture inspired my own greater reading of The Bible. I will never forget her sense of humor and friendliness and warmth in her personality. In the face of all her afflictions her steadfast Faith was and is inspirational. She is missed and not forgotten. Rest In Peace my friend and may you be granted a place of light and comfort as well.
