Doris Lillian Carlson
Born on November 17, 1928, in Fairfield, CT. Doris passed away peacefully in Middletown, CT on October 30, 2024 at the Wadsworth Glen Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, where she received caring and supportive treatment for the last 8 years.
Doris was born and raised as a first-generation Swede in Fairfield, CT. She graduated from Roger Ludlow High School and attended the Lutheran Bible Institute. She has been a lifelong resident of Connecticut. She is survived by her daughter Brooke Carlson and her husband, Jean-Luc Mayoussier, and their dog, Mr. B, of Middlefield, CT. Doris was predeceased by the love of her life, her former husband Bertil Clifford Carlson, her mother and father, Peter and Ellen Carlson, her aunt, Hilda Hedberg and Doris' beloved siblings Virginia Carlson, Eunice Boston, and Roland Carlson. Other relatives reside in France, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
Throughout her life, Doris battled with severe mental illness and persevered in being her true self until her last breath. She was able to find her own joy in life, even though she lived in her own world. Her devoted daughter Brooke was the heart of her life and by her side throughout the many challenges Doris faced during her life.
Doris was laid to rest on November 5, 2024 in a private graveside service at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport, near many family members dear to her heart.
