Doris Mammana Obituary

MAMMANA Doris Christine Mammana, 83, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. She was born on December 24, 1927 in Bronx, NY. Doris was the daughter of the late James and Mary Bez of Stamford. She was predeceased by her husband, Ignazio A. (Nat) Mammana. Her devotion to cooking and her family was evident on most Sundays and Holidays when her family gathered around the table for pasta and meatballs. Doris is survived by her four children, The Rev.Gary F. and his wife Kathy Mammana of Southbury, CT, James A. "Jamie" and his wife Nellie Mammana of Stamford, Mark C. and his wife Alena Mammana of Bridgeport, CT, and Michael C. and his wife Lorene Mammana of Trumbull, CT; six grandchildren, Jason, Jonathan, Christopher, Jessica, Sophia, and Amanda Mammana and two great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Dylan Mammana; a sister Diana and her husband Victor Vallario of Trumbull, CT, a brother Dennis Bez of California. Friends and family may call at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902, on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, from 10:00AM-11:00AM. A service will be held at the Funeral Home 11:00AM with her son, The Rev. Gary F. Mammana officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Stepheny Baptist Church, 423 Main Street, Monroe, CT 06468. To leave on-line condolences, please visit www.cognetta.com. The Nicholas F.
