Dorothy Czark Obituary

Dorothy M. "Dotty" Czark
Dorothy M. "Dotty" Czark, 91, of Trumbull, Connecticut, passed away on August 11, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Dotty was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 4, 1934, to the late Hilda and Fred Kruse. She went to Grover Cleveland High School where lifelong childhood friends remembered sharing in the joy of Dotty being elected as class president. In September of 1956 she met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Czark, at a bar in the financial district of lower Manhattan. Their romance blossomed, and they married on June 14, 1958, beginning a journey that would span 67 years. They started their family in Poughkeepsie, New York, before moving to Ridgewood, then on to Glendale, Queens where Dotty loved sitting on the front stoop with her neighbors while their children played. In 1973, a job transfer brought them to Trumbull, Connecticut where Dotty built a new life. She worked for the Town of Trumbull Tax Collector's Office for 25 years before retiring and volunteering in the Day Care Center at St. Joseph's Manor which she loved. Throughout her life, Dotty's greatest joys were her family and friends. Her biggest delight was simply knowing her family was happy and healthy. She and Bob enjoyed traveling together, in particular, cruising and Las Vegas, but nothing brought her more happiness than the arrival of her four grandchildren, Lindsey, Danni, Eli and Jake, which gave her such pride and indescribable joy! Dotty's legacy is the importance of family and being there for each other. She led by example, and her family will continue to honor her memory by upholding these values. Whether remembered as Dotty, Dorothy, Mom, or Grandma, her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched. She is survived by her loving husband, Bob; her children, Sue, Doug (and his wife Carrie), and Debbie (and her husband Bill); and her grandchildren, Lindsey (and her husband Travis), Danni (and her fiancé Austin), Eli, and Jake. She was predeceased by her beloved brother, Freddie Kruse. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, August 18, 2025 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. A prayer service will take place at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to support research and care for Primary Progressive Aphasia, a condition Dotty was diagnosed with in 2019. Contributions can be made to the National Aphasia Association - https://aphasia.org/ - or the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD) - https://www.theaftd.org/
