Dorothy A. Sirotnak, age 85, of Stratford, entered into rest on October 23, 2022, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born November 21, 1936 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late John and Helen Stempel Sirotnak. She was a long-time resident of Stratford, graduating from Stratford High School in 1954. Dorothy was the parish secretary at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Stratford for 60 years and was involved in most aspects of the life of the parish community. She was also a long-time member of the Holy Name Ladies Guild, a Sacristan and choir member. Dorothy loved dining out with family and friends, bowling, going on cruises and travelling to her favorite place, Hawaii. She also really enjoyed the music of the group, Celtic Thunder. In a family of Yankees and Mets fans, she was a proud fan of the Red Sox. All who knew her remember Dorothy's gentle spirit, kindness, warmth and sense of humor. Dorothy is survived by her sister, Lorraine Sabados; her nephew, Michael Sabados and his wife, Michelle and their children, Veronika and Michael Paul Daniel, all of Stratford; nieces, Kathleen Wink and her husband, Gary, Cynthia Macaluso and Diane Bove, all of Flushing, New York. In addition to her beloved parents, Dorothy was also predeceased by her brother, John F. Sirotnak; sisters, Evelyn and Frances Sirotnak; sister-in-law, Irene Sirotnak; and brother-in-law, Louis Sabados. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 9:30 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue, Stratford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Albert Pinciaro. Interment will follow at Saint Michael's Cemetery in Stratford.
