Edward Holmes Obituary

HOLMES Edward Nathaniel Holmes, age 69, of Bridgeport, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at St. Vincent‚s Medical Center. Born in Charlottesville, Va., Edward had been a resident of this city for the past 28 years. He was a former employee of Read‚s Department Store in the maintenance department and was also employed as a machine operator with Avco of Stamford. Survivors include his wife, Annie Mason Holmes; a son, Maurice Anthony (Joyce) Holmes, both of Bridgeport; three daughters, Eva Lethoria Holmes of Bridgeport, Ealorise Debra Holmes-Smith and Ann Elizabeth Holmes-Hooks, both of Virginia; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. There will be no funeral service. Friends are invited to the viewing Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Morton‚s Mortuary, 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport, is in charge of arrangements.
