Edward Morris Obituary

MORRIS Edward J. Morris Jr., age 73 of Ansonia, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at St. Vincent's Medical Center Bridgeport. Ed was the devoted husband of 50 years to Marian Severine Morris. He was born in Barre, Vt., November 5, 1933, son of the late Edward J. and Dorothy Buswell Morris Sr. and had been a Valley Resident for most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War. Mr. Morris was a quality control supervisor for the United States Government overseeing work at Sikorsky Aircraft for 40 years before his retirement in 1996. He was the beloved father of Christine Morris and Diana Palumbo and her husband, Doug. He was the brother of Steven Morris, James Morris, Sandra Deforge, Bonnie Murray, and Avis Herwig, all of Vermont, Richard Morris of New Hampshire and Patricia David of Connecticut. Mr. Morris also leaves two cherished grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Morris. Friends may greet the family on Friday (TODAY) from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. On Saturday his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, Derby. Entombment with full military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter's Garden Mausoleum Derby. Memorial contributions may be made to Griffin Hospital Development Fund, 130 Division Street.
