Edward Seymour Obituary

SEYMOUR Mr. Edward White Seymour, age 92, of Fairfield, retired Controller for the Singer Company, died on Sunday, December 21, 2003, in Cambridge Manor. Born in New York City, son of the late Charles K. and Florence White Seymour, he had been a Fairfield resident for the last 48 years. Mr. Seymour was a graduate of The Collegiate School, Williams College, and the Harvard Business School, and was a World War II US Army veteran. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fairfield for many years. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Katherine Sanford Seymour. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Bonnie) S. Strong and her husband John of Tulsa, Okla., and Katherine S. Brody and her husband Seth of Monroe; three grandchildren, Nils (Chip) Anderson of Tulsa, Okla., Leigh Josie of Southington, Conn. and Jason McQuiddy of Covington, WA; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Dr. Thomas Seymour and Harold Seymour. Burial services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Audubon Society, Burr Street, Fairfield, or the charity of one's choice.
