Elaine McPadden Obituary
Elaine "Mimi" McPadden, age 94, of Shelton entered into rest on Saturday, November 9, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of 63 years to the late John W. McPadden. Elaine was born in Bridgeport in 1930. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and friend who truly loved and cherished her family. She taught CCD classes and was a scout leader. She selflessly gave to her loved ones and many others. She also enjoyed family vacations, hosting incredible holidays and volunteering for local community groups throughout her life. Elaine was the beloved mother of Suzanne McLean and her late husband Josh, Dr. E. Marie McPadden, John W. McPadden II and his wife Maria, and Christopher W. McPadden and Teya. She was a loving grandmother and truly enjoyed all of her grandchildren, Shawn Toomey, Megan Armour (Jed), Jeanine Sieranski (Chris), Alexander McPadden, Jack McPadden (fiancee Jamie), Daniel McPadden (fiancee Daniella) great-grandchildren, Fritz, Greta and Sharilyn Toomey, Joshua Hamilton, Sophia and Christopher Sieranski and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister. On Saturday, December 7th, friends are invited to a Memorial Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton, Avenue, Shelton. Her burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Fairfield Prep General Memorial Scholarship Fund, www.fairfieldprep.org/give or checks may be mailed noting Elaine McPadden, to 1073 North Benson Road, Fairfield, CT 06824. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton has been entrusted with her arrangements. Friends may leave condolences at www.riverviewfh.com.

My mother-in-law:
Is my second mother I couldn't ask for a better one. She was kind, gentle, and loving always willing to go the extra mile. She comforted me when I was down and gently told me when I was wrong. I´ve learned so many things from this sweet little lady. We share lots of great times. Appreciate the small stuff but most importantly how to love life at its darkest moments to continue to continue. I'll love her forever!
Thank you mother for loving me as your own. You have made my life brighter by being my sunshine on a cloudy day. I will miss you very much til we meet again love you. Maria

Mrs McPadden was my CCDteacher when I made my first holy communion and the only one that wore White. Dress and a veil in 1976 as my mom missed the meeting about just wearing a party dress. She was so pleased. I always saw her at mass. She was a lovely lady RIP Anne Marie Winblad-Ward
