Eleanor "Polly" M. Crouch Grabert, 92 of Milford, CT, beloved wife of the late Charles H. Grabert, passed from this life on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Bridges by Epoch in Trumbull with her daughter, Heide, and daughter-in-law, Judy, by her side. Daughter of the late William and Laura Crouch, Eleanor was born in Danbury, CT and raised in Newtown, CT. Eleanor married her husband, Charles, in 1950 and began raising their family in Danbury before moving to Bridgeport. Upon retirement, Eleanor and Charles moved to Lehi, Utah. Upon the death of her husband in 2001, Eleanor moved back to Connecticut to live with her son, Mark, and his wife, Judy. Eleanor was a strong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over the years, she held various callings in the Primary and Relief Society of the church. Eleanor loved her family, and always tried to help them in whatever way she could. Eleanor loved to garden and always had beautiful flowers in her gardens. She loved to "dig in the dirt". She loved her cats over the years as well, enjoying their company and antics. She enjoyed working on word puzzles, Sudoku puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. She and her daughter, Heide, worked on many jigsaw puzzles together in her later years. She loved doing needlework and sewed many doll clothes for her daughter and granddaughters when they were children. Eleanor will be greatly missed by her family and her friends. She is survived by her son Charles Allen Grabert (Junie); daughter Heide Ellen Ostrosky (Edward); daughter-in-law Judy Grabert; grandchildren Janevieve Grabert, Heidi Hoopes (Mark), Forest Grabert (Jenny), Laura Grabert, and Christopher Ostrosky; great-grandchildren Katya, Emma, Toby, Eliana, and Xander; brother Frederick Crouch; and many extended family and friends. Eleanor was predeceased by her son Mark Wayne Grabert; daughter-in-law Gloria Grabert; and siblings Lucy Speer, Mary George, Frances Crouch and William Roy Crouch (baby Billy). Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460. A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the Newtown Village Cemetery, 20 Elm Dr., Newtown, CT 06470 (MEET DIRECTLY AT THE CEMETERY).
