Voccola, Eleanor L.
Eleanor L. Voccola, age 80, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Frederick J. Voccola passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born on October 14, 1935 in Scranton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Dougher Hanstein. Eleanor was a secretary and bookkeeper at the American Chain and Cable Company for many years. She was a diehard UCONN Lady Huskies and N.Y. Yankees fan, and enjoyed bowling. She enjoyed time with her family and friends, especially Lucy, Pearl and Dotty. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Teresa Moccia and her husband Richard of Bridgeport; her two cherished grandchildren, Micheal Voccola, and Brandie Voccola Santiago and her husband Carlos; three adored great grandchildren, J.R., Amaiah, and Noah; a brother Harry Hanstein and his wife Carol of Florida; brother-in-law James Voccola and his wife Dee of Shelton; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Fred Voccola and two brothers Frederick and Edward Hanstein.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
